Dear Reader,
What is a label. Why do people label things. Who decides what the label gets to be and how it is understood?
I’ve been catching myself in a pause while I speak, looking for a word that means exactly what I want to portray/describe/communicate in a conversation or when writing. I notice how difficult it is for me to recall words. I think of how we select our words, our tones, and the melodies we speak with. When we are communicating it is crucial that the words we use are widely understood by our audience to ensure that others can easily follow along. It is essential for us to have a shared understanding of the vocabulary being used in order to grasp the information being shared. However, beyond verbal communication, we also rely on vibrations to express more than just words. Many of our emotions are expressed with noise and body language through primal or intuitive forms of communication.
When we use vibrations, whether through speech or body language, they can lead to a profound connection or a transfer of energy between individuals. People tend to have an easier time understanding each other and being on the same page when their vibrational energy is in sync and resonating on the same wavelength. It's fascinating how a whole message, rich with intention and emotion, can be distilled and conveyed through just a few carefully modulated words or physical vibrations our body can make.
Written words are just lines and shapes in a certain order (yes I’m talking about alphabetic letters) . We associate sounds and context with certain groupings of these lines and shapes. Speaking words brings another level of complexity: tone/melody. People will say a string of words together in a phrase that can translate many different messages to the person they are talking to. All you’d have to do is articulate different parts of the phrase/words or put different inflections on the end of your statement. This concept can feel so foreign if we weren’t already familiar with it. To break down language and communication feels infinite.
